MIA : Software QA

It’s been a long gap between posts – but I just have to ask what has happened to software QA these days?

DirecTV Blimp, originally uploaded by FullMetalJackett.

We have a DirecTV HR21-700 DVR which decided to load some new software onto itself middle of last week. Since then the audio regularly goes into a 20sec period of stuttering breakup every 15 – 20 mins or so. It’s pretty bad considering all DirecTV’s customers pay fees to them for the service – you’d think a little more care would go into the pushing of new software!

This comes on top of some bugs I found and reported in some Nikon software – come on tech industry – do not count on your customers to do your QA – pretty soon you’ll have no customers.

  1. Saw your photo’s on Flickr. Looks good. Interesting to see you have a blog. How about dropping us an email to let us know what you’ve been up to? Presume you can see my email address from this, if not, reply and I’ll see if I still have one that works for you. Your long lost sister.
