A tribute to the All Blacks, found on youtube:
I was contemplating what to title this post as I was driving into work this morning, and “People Suck” is what I came up with.
When I went out to my car this morning, I discovered the flap over the gas/petrol cap was open. Given the soaring price of gas/petrol some folks are obviously deciding they have the right to take it from others who have payed for it.
Mr. Bush, you suck for starting this “War on Terror” which has done nothing to make anybody any safer and you obviously failed at getting control of oil production and appear to have had the opposite effect in driving prices up.
To the low lifes in the local neighbourhood who feel like they can take other peoples things – you suck big time.
To the local cops – you almost suck too – because of the ridiculous sweep you made of the local streets to ticket folks who had their cars parked on the curb, facing the wrong direction, now my car has to be parked so that the gas/petrol cap is on the hidden side of the car, where as it was previously on the street side, meaning any attempted siphoning would have to be done out in the middle of the street. Instead of worrying about how cars are parked why aren’t you out chasing down this crime that: 1.) annoys the crap out of the local residents, and 2.) can only escalate into worse things.
That’s my rant for the day – very soon we get to ‘enjoy’ the Yahoo Earnings report – let’s see how the company has been able to do while dealing with the unabashed corporate-terrorism perpertrated by Mr. Ichan and Microsoft in recent weeks.
The All Blacks played World Champion South Africa in a rugby match in Wellington this past weekend. While the Boks held in the game, they looked somewhat stale compared to the All Blacks. But shown left is what inspired this post.
Butch James made no impression in the game other than as a hitman trying to take out the New Zealand mid-field with any means possible. He tried especially hard to get Daniel Carter, but even failed at that.
Does South Africa really have nothing else but illegal play to rely on? I sure hope they play better in the 2nd match in Dunedin this coming weekend.

It’s been a long gap between posts – but I just have to ask what has happened to software QA these days?
DirecTV Blimp, originally uploaded by FullMetalJackett.
We have a DirecTV HR21-700 DVR which decided to load some new software onto itself middle of last week. Since then the audio regularly goes into a 20sec period of stuttering breakup every 15 – 20 mins or so. It’s pretty bad considering all DirecTV’s customers pay fees to them for the service – you’d think a little more care would go into the pushing of new software!
This comes on top of some bugs I found and reported in some Nikon software – come on tech industry – do not count on your customers to do your QA – pretty soon you’ll have no customers.
Came across this the other day and thought it was funny.
yup – totally pointless post
I love flickr and I love the idea of making some money off my hobby, therefore I was very happy to find a blog today that talks a lot about combining these two things – take a look for yourself:
…and I feel like Paul Tito looks in this photo already and it’s only the 17th!
We have been going crazy preparing the house for Christmas, shopping and wrapping, trying to be all done this week before the avalanche of in-laws arrive mid week this week. We will be hosting Christmas Eve dinner and at this point we expect to be putting on a meal for 14 settings – so you can see how it gets on top of you!
On top of that work is very busy meeting end of year deadlines…. I’m surviving on coffee and dreams of two days off work to use my new camera
So with the recent release of Firefox 2.0.0.11 it looks like the update clashed with my security software and corrupted some files. It resulted in not being able to Uninstall or Add Addons to the browser. If you find yourself in the same situation take a look at this page:

The section in particular that fixed my issue was the one dealing with “Corrupt extension files”
